South Central Railway Recruitment 2012 is available for 95 vacancies in different categories and the details about it was recently published vide an employment notice. This is a special recruitment drive which is meant for PWD candidates only and as such interested applicants who are physically disabled and having all the requisite eligibility can consider applying to this latest Railway Job in India. However, the term disability has been specifically defined and classified into various categories for determining whether the applicant can be considered eligible for the available vacancies. Some of these categories includes Blindness, Low Vision, Hearing Impairment, Locomotor Disability and Cerebral Palsy and for each one of them there are certain standards or degrees of disabilities which will be taken into account for determining whether or not a person falls under any of such category.

As seen in the above table, there are different types of posts available in both technical and non-technical category for persons with disability. One can apply for the relevant post by downloading the SCR Recruitment 2012 application form from the official website or by using the attachment links below. The prescribed format is also included in the official notification as Annexure I. The form should be printed on a single-side of standard A4 size paper and the details pertaining to each available fields on the form should be filled in either English or Hindi using a Blue/black ball pen. The applicant will also need to attach a recent photograph to it and put their signature below the photograph in the box provided therein. It is also mandatory for the applicants to re-write the declaration in Column 15 of the form in their own handwriting and also affix their left thumb impression in the appropriate space.

There are various other conditions which must be fulfilled or otherwise the application of the candidate will be considered invalid and get rejected. After going through all the details mentioned above, you might be wondering about the selection procedure to be used for selecting candidates for appointment. Well, in railways the selection is always done on merit basis and for this recruitment drive too the selection will be based on merit in a written examination to be conducted for the same. This exam will be objective type and the syllabus of SCR Recruitment 2012 includes papers on General Awareness, Arithmetic, Reasoning and General Intelligence. There may be relevant technical subjects too for certain posts and may carry question on such topics. There will be around 100 questions in total which is to be answered within 1 hour and 30 minutes. Negative markings will be there and 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted for wrong answers. In addition to the performance in the written examination, the process of selection will also evaluate whether the candidate fulfills all the eligibility norms, medical fitness etc.
